Wedding Insurance is becoming more popular. In truth there is a real danger that as more suppliers enter the wedding marketplace there is an increased likelyhood for things things can go wrong. Dreamsaver Wedding Insurance has got some useful tips to help reduce your concerns and help your big day run smoothly.
Planning a wedding often means a “to do” list a mile long, and purchasing wedding insurance should be one of the first things you can cross off this list. With even a modest wedding there can be a mountain of planning involved, and it is easy to see the potential for something to go wrong. Insuring your wedding will give you peace of mind on your big day, so read the below tips from wedding insurance specialists Dreamsaver Wedding Insurance and make sure you get the right cover for you.
READ AND UNDERSTAND THE POLICY
This applies to all insurance not just Wedding Insurance: ALWAYS read the policy wording before you buy your policy. It will tell you what you are and aren’t covered for, so understanding this is vital to make sure the insurance meets your needs.
MAKE SURE YOU DON’T UNDER INSURE
Match the level of cover you buy with the total cost of your wedding. If you under insure you risk being left out of pocket. You’ll only be able to claim up to the section limit, so if any single element of your wedding, for example your wedding dress, has a value that is higher than the limit of the relevant section of your policy, you should opt for the higher level of cover.
PROTECT YOUR DEPOSITS
If you have paid deposits before you’ve bought your wedding insurance check that your policy covers you for these. Some policies will only cover deposits paid while cover is in force whilst others, such as Dreamsaver, include cover for deposits that have already been paid.
CONSIDER PRE-EXISTING MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Check that any medical conditions of the Bride, Groom or anyone on who the wedding depends can be covered by the policy. You don’t want to cancel and then find that the medical condition is not covered. Unfortunately, some very serious conditions won’t be able to be covered by any insurer.
BUY AS SOON AS YOU CAN
Don’t hang about, be sure to buy your policy in good time as some sections, e.g. Adverse Weather, may have operative time endorsements. This means that cover may not come into force until a certain amount of time has elapsed after the premium has been paid (for example 14 days). As Dreamsaver wedding insurance is available to purchase up to 2 years in advance there is no excuse for leaving it until the last minute, and that’s one more thing crossed off your checklist.
